Affordability and Housing
The high cost of living impacts all of us. In particular, the past five years have been brutal as inflation, housing costs, and ever-increasing taxes and fees are passed on to working families and those struggling to get by. As Supervisor, affordability will always be top of mind in all decisions I make.

The most important impact local government can have on easing the affordability crisis is in advancing new housing opportunities. The reality is, the next generation of Sonoma County families is being priced out of the communities they grew up in. That’s unacceptable. Local governments must do more to approve housing opportunities more efficiently and cut down permitting delays that prevent responsible development.

As Supervisor, I will be a strong advocate for middle-income housing—the kind that enables teachers, tradespeople, young families, and small business owners to build a life in Sonoma County.

In Cloverdale, we have taken steps to reform the permitting and entitlement process to make it easier and faster to get new construction projects online. These types of reforms are desperately needed at the County, and I will work to make the county planning process far more streamlined and efficient than the status quo.

I grew up in Sonoma County, I raised my kids here, and I want those future generations to have the same opportunity to call this place home.
